~Malaysian Food~











                Food is important in our life. Without food, we will feel weak because we do not have energy to living our live. As we know, Malaysia is a country that have many types of race. Because of that, Malaysia famous with their many types of food. Statistically, food preparation in Malaysia is different from place to place. The popular of food in Malaysia such as nasi lemak, Penang laksa and rendang.

      The first popular of food in Malaysia is nasi lemak. Of Malaysia origin, is often called the national dish. Although it is traditionally a breakfast dish, but because the versatility of nasi lemak is being able to be served in a variety ways. It is now often eaten at any time of the day. Traditionally, this comes with a platter of food wrapped in banana leaf, with cucumber slices, small dried anchovies, roasted peanuts, hardboiled egg, and hot spicy sauce “sambal” at its core.

      Next, it is laksa Penang. This is also known as asam laksa from the Malay word ‘asam jawa’ or called as tamarind which comes from the Malaysian island of Penang. It is made with mackerel soup and its main distinguishing feature is the asam or tamarind which gives the soup a sour taste. The fish is poached and then flaked. Other ingredients that give Penang laksa its distinctive flavor include lemongrass, alagal and chilli.

      Besides, rendang also being popular in Malaysia especially among Malay race. It is a dish which originated from the Minangkabau ethnic. Rendang is traditionally prepared by the Malay community during festive occasions. Rendang is made from beef, chicken, mutton, buffalo or vegetable like jackfruit. Slowly cook in coconut milk, spices and sometimes kerisik. There are two kind of rendang, dried and wet. Wet rendang also known as kalio. Dried rendang can be kept for three to four months.

      In short, there are many types of food that we can eat in Malaysia. The food preparation also dfferent from place to place in Malaysia. Because of that, it make Malaysia more unique than another country and taste of food in Malaysia more delicious than others.
